Jacqueline Dupré is a Long Island based, self-taught, alternative photographer, and mixed media artist working largely in abstraction and surrealism.
Jacqueline’s focus is mostly on experimenting with various techniques, materials, and subject matters to create pieces intended to alter the perception of the viewer.
Jacqueline Dupre’s artwork is an experimentation in medium and technique. Inspired by history, other artists, and imagination, Jacqueline’s creations blur the boundaries between abstraction and surrealism. Her newest series, Projective Anthos explores the beauty of botanicals and the complexity of the human mind.
Inspired by Rorschach tests and the theory of Mandelbrot, Jacqueline Dupré creates visuals designed to stimulate the mind and invoke curiosity in the viewer.
Combining cyanotype processing with photographs taken from her
Long Island garden, each print is an interpretation of the self-similarities we see in nature.
My work draws inspiration from many places, often from nature and surroundings through the aid of music. I have found great inspiration and support from other artists and mentors in my travels, learning and experimenting with many mediums and materials.
I love creating and collecting art. Some of my favorit artists include Deborah Turbeville, Man Ray, Joel Peter Witkin, David Firth and Francis Bacon.
